Custom Eco-Vue iPad Case FAQ
The Eco-Vue iPad Cases are decorated in-house using our laser engraving machine. In this process the laser melts or removes the top surface of material. It is not printing and no color is added. There is usually some variation in the color and appearance of each case. If you need to order a large number of cases that all look identical then this is not the decoration process to use. Â Debossed and printed iPad cases may be a better choice for your needs.
The current Eco-Vue leather case for iPad that Marware sells laser engraves to a dark brownish gray color and cuts fairly deeply into the case removing the outer surface. The mark left behind is more of a sueded texture. Â It is possible there will be some variation in the color of the etching due to manufacturing changes that are out of our control. Â Large filled areas may not engrave to an exactly uniform color or texture.
Artwork on eco-leather should be fairly simple such as logos or text. There is not enough color change for photos to come out well. Artwork for should be only pure black and white (1-bit) and should be in a vector format or at least 300 dpi (6oo dpi is preferable). We can usually modify your artwork for you if you send a vector file.
Laser engraving leather leaves behind an ash residue. Â We clean each case after engraving, but there may still be traces of this residue left behind that could rub off when touched.
If you are placing a large order we very strongly recommend doing one case as a sample, receiving it in person, and adjusting your artwork as needed. This process generally takes about two weeks, but quick turnaround orders are possible by taking advantage of our rush service options. Â We do not recommend ordering a large number of cases without an in-person proof. Returns or refunds are not possible for custom items.
