Apple Rumor: Engraving iPads?

A lot of people sent me links to this article when it came out a few days ago. I’ve always expected Apple to offer laser engraving on all their products. For some reason they never did the iPhones, but maybe that’s due to the service contract, or the plastic case (which Does engrave fairly well…). The iPad seems to fit in with the iPods though.

But the bottom line in engraving artwork is that Apple likely won’t want to engrave more than a few lines of text:

Honestly, the quick engravings that Apple does only take a few seconds. They’re not our specialty since the shipping would cost more than the engraving itself.
